We booked this accommodation as we were looking for a place to stay near family who live near Denia. From our first contact with the owners (Maureen and John) via email, they were helpful, informative and very friendly. They even met us at our relatives house to show us the way! The accommodation was perfect for our family. 3 adults and a child) It was immaculate, beautifully furnished with lots of thoughtful touches including a bottle of cava in the fridge! The kitchen was extremely well stocked including plastic glasses for the poolside and Tupperware boxes for a picnic lunch on the beach! The tv was a great plus especially as it had English channels. There were ample books and dvds for those not wanting to join in the siesta. The owners have provided lots of local information to help you find your way about. The bathrooms are well appointed and exceptionally clean. The garden was lovely and the upstairs terrace was a wonderful sun trap. The pool area was immaculate and most of the time only had 2/3 people in. The complex is gated so you feel safe and secure and we never experienced any noise during our stay. The other residents were very friendly and our son made a couple of friends by the pool. We did hire a car as we like to explore but there is a little shopping area with a few bars/shops just a 4 minute stroll if you run out of bread or beer! There was a wonderful little shop tucked away in the corner selling maps and English books/ magazines. This then leads onto the wonderful beach. There was also a very helpful pharmacist here who helped us out when our son felt unwell. We discovered some beautiful beaches just a 5 minute drive from the property and even though we were there during the main Spanish holiday, the beaches were still quiet, especially after lunch when the Spanish go for their siestas. We stayed on the beach till 8pm most days as the sea was still lovely and warm. Denia itself is a lovely Spanish town, and its great to sit in a pavement bar and watch the world go by. There are restaurant's to suit all pockets,our son especially enjoyed the ice cream parlours. We were very lucky to be there during the annual fiesta which was so much fun. The castle is worth a visit just for the views alone but don't do what we did and go during the hottest part of the day as its a steep climb!! There is also a little street market during the evenings selling trinkets/bags and souvenir's etc The marina has some beautiful yachts and lovely restaurant's (we had a lovely meal in latitudes). Having a car enabled us to explore Denia and to visit Benidorm which was only 40 minutes on the toll road. we also visited javea which has some great bars and shops. We found the roads easy to navigate and we well signposted. Parking was also easy in Denia as there are some large car parks on the sea front if you are not lucky enough to find a place in a side street. We did notice a very regular bus service which ran along the main road to Denia. There are plenty of large supermarkets around Denia which enabled us to stock up the freezer and spend more time by the pool! Denia is the perfect destination is you want a quiet, more upmarket holiday with a real Spanish feel. The beaches are quiet and child friendly and you can drive right up to the beach and park which was brilliant for my mother who is 80 and finds walking a bit difficult. The accommodation has everything you need for a relaxing peaceful break in beautiful surroundings. We loved it so much we have been in touch with the owners to book for next year! We would just like to say thanks for everything. The apartment was perfect in every way, we really did feel at home and will miss it very much. July 2013 Date  26-07-2013 Rating  Name  Stephane M Message  "A perfect stay in a beautiful duplex" Apartment very clean, well equipped home in a quiet, secure, neat and family. Everything was according to the pictures and description. Air conditioning and fans in every room, which is important in hot weather (even if there is still a nice little breeze in the afternoon which is forgotten 35 degrees in the shade). Another plus: two terraces to enjoy the shade as the sun at any time of the day. And the icing on the cake: extremely friendly British owners, who put at your disposal sheets and towels galore, take the time to explain everything to you before your arrival, manage to share with you despite your very rudimentary English and help you even leave your luggage in the car. Bravo etiquette English! The private, 50 meters from the duplex pool is not overrun by season (at least in July) and we were usually 2 or 3 couples to share with us a very large pool in short, rather quiet while allowing children as adults to get to know. The beach (cleaned every morning and monitored) and the 1st shops where you can find bread, small grocery stores and restaurants are within 10 minutes walk .... 50 minutes walk from the beach or 5 minutes by car enough to get to the center of Denia and find two supermarkets, but also a small town in the Costa Blanca has not been disfigured by concrete, has preserved its character mélant fishing village and Medina. Beautiful ballads to do in the old town, full of little restaurants and some pedestrian areas. When kids get tired of this place full of charm, you can make a jump to Benidorm station hideous disfigured by skyscrapers but where theme parks abound. Our three children (twin 6 years and older than 8 years) especially loved Aqualandia. Conclusion: the place of residence and the rental was great ... and we hope to return next year! French family stayed July 2013: "Un séjour parfait dans un très beau duplex" Appartement très propre, bien équipé dans une petite résidence calme, sécurisée, soignée et familiale. Tout était conforme aux photos et au descriptif. Climatisation et ventilateur dans toutes les pièces, ce qui est appréciable par forte chaleur (même s'il y a toujours une petite brise bien agréable l'après midi qui fait oublié les 35 degrés à l'ombre). Le petit plus : deux terrasses permettant de profiter de l'ombre comme du soleil à toute heure de la journée. Et cerise sur le gateau : des propriétaires britanniques extrêmement accueillants, qui vous mettent à disposition draps et serviettes à profusion, prennent le temps de tout vous expliquer avant votre arrivée, se débrouillent pour échanger avec vous malgré votre anglais très rudimentaire et vous aident même à sortir vos bagages de la voitures. Bravo le savoir vivre anglais ! La piscine privée, à 50 mètres du duplex, n'est pas envahie en saison (du moins en juillet) et nous étions le plus souvent 2 ou 3 couples à nous partager un très grand bassin : bref, plutôt calme tout en permettant aux enfants comme aux adultes de lier connaissance. La plage (nettoyée chaque matin et surveillée), ainsi que les 1ers commerces, où vous trouverez pain, petites épiceries et restaurants, sont à moins de 10 mn à pied.... 50mn à pied par la plage ou 5 mn en voiture suffisent pour se rendre au centre de Dénia et trouver deux grandes surfaces, mais surtout une petite ville de la costa blanca qui n'a pas été défigurée par le béton, a conservé son cachet mélant village de pécheurs et médina. De belles ballades à faire dans la vieille ville, pleine de petits restos et quelques zones piétonnes. Lorsque les enfants se lassent de cet endroit au charme fou, vous pouvez faire un saut jusqu'à Bénidorm, station hideuse défigurée par les gratte-ciels mais où les parcs d'attraction ne manquent pas. Nos trois enfants (deux jumeaux de 6 ans et un ainé de 8 ans) ont notamment adoré Aqualandia. Conclusion : le lieu de séjour et la location étaient super...Et on espère y retourner dès l'an prochain ! Date  28-06-2013 Rating  Name  Angela & Chris Message  We had a wonderful time in Denia and this duplex. The property was well equipped and very clean. The 2nd bathroom was great and both bedrooms were a good size. We particularly liked the private rear garden and the balcony. The sun in the morning on the balcony was lovely, and later in the day the sun moved around to the garden, so there was always either sun or shade depending on your preference. The pool was lovely and most days we were the only ones there! The gardens are beautifully maintained and the neighbourhood was quiet. Thank you Maureen and John for your hospitality. We would definitely recommend both this property and Denia. June 2013 Date  10-04-2013 Rating  Name  Ludi & Tracey Kennedy Message  My wife and I spent February, March and the first week in April 2013 at the duplex. We loved every minute of it. The location is superb, just 5 mins walk from the local shops, bars and restaurants and lovely safe beach and 5 mins drive from Denia with its excellent facilities, The duplex itself is well appointed and had everything we needed. On the day of our departure English TV was being installed and a brand new flat screen TV arrived which can only add to its appeal, certainly through the winter months. The beautiful pool was being professionally cleaned and refilled whilst we were there. Unfortunately it was a bit to chilly for us to use at that time of year but it looked very, very inviting. The owners Maureen and John live nearby. They are lovely people. On our arrival we found little bits and pieces in the fridge that they had left to welcome us. They were ready at the end of the phone to cater for any need that might have had. Fortunately our 2 month stay went perfectly smoothly without incident. We would not hesitate to recommend the duplex and when we holiday again in Denia, Maureen and John will be the first that we would contact. Publicly we would like to thank Maureen and John for the use of their lovely duplex and the warmth and kindness that they showed us. We have returned after two years and once again are impressed with the cleanliness of the property and the friendliness of Maureen and John who were there to welcome us. In a quiet location near enough to restaurants, bars and the beach is only 10 minutes walk away. We would highly recommend to all our friends and family. We were greeted in the house personally - thanks for the wine and other goodies Maureen and John. We've never experienced a lovelier welcome in any holiday home we've ever stayed in! And things got better. The duplex was a delight. Beautifully furnished, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. If the proof of really great accommodation lies in the ability to feel truly relaxed by doing nothing and just admiring the view, then this is just the ticket. The shared pool and surroundings were equally splendid. Would I recommend it to friends? Naturally. But it was so good, I'd prefer to keep it a secret! More than the comforts of home with wall to wall sunshine! A truly memorable holiday. We were there family of 2 adults and 3 children . The complex is clean, and very secure has a lovely swimming pool and private garden was well used. The complex was 4-6 minutes walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. The centre of Denia was only 2 miles away. The view of the mountains from the duplex are stunning. Our kids really enjoyed their holidays and We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to JOHN and Maureen. June/July 2012 Date  30-07-2012 Rating  Name  Patrik and Teodora Message  Me, my wife and our 3.5 years toddler, we had a great time and we really enjoyed our stay in the duplex during the second part of July 2012. The owners are very nice folks and helpful, they gave us directions, greeted us, showed us how to use the utilities and offered help whenever necessary. The apartment is very clean, quite well equipped and situated in a private residence area. It’s a very quiet area, within 5 minutes walking distance from the beach and restaurants. The shared pool was also nice, as well as the nearby playground. The sandy beach in Las Marinas is one of the best in the area (the one near the entrance in Denia is also very good). We suggest having a car to move around, for visiting the nearby cities of Valencia, Alicante, resorts like Benidorm, as well as shop. We recommend the supermarket Consum in Denia for supplies although you can also buy them in smaller shops like Masymas, Lidl, Aldi. The nearest hypermarket Carrefour is in the town of Gandia, 30 km distance. For travel adapters and generally electric stuff, there are enough shops in Denia.
