We loved the Moulin! I don’t remember a more relaxing holiday in that beautiful and peaceful setting. On the days we felt energetic, there were always interesting places to visit and things to do. This included beautiful walks, cycling, canoeing, sightseeing, markets and great food. The list is endless! The old Mill built of stone has a quaint and charming feel about it but has been renovated to the highest standard for comfort and convenience……………… definitely 5* .. Our children of 12 and 14 also loved their saty in this enachating area...........do not miss an opportunity to stay here and forget about your daily woes ! Deon Van Rhyn Isle of Man

What a beautiful place, tranquil, peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle. The Moulin de Malecoste is amazing, beautifully decorated, spacious and a "wish the walls could talk" historic kind of building. What fun times we have had here. Laughter, Great Food, Comfortable Rooms, and the best hosts you could ever wish for, our good friends Heather and Rad. Visits to such lovely villages close by, Collonge la Rouge, Rocamadour, Domme, Sarlat, St Cirq Lapopie and Gouffre de Padiac and many many more. Thank you for making our visits so special. Looking forward to returning. Pegs & Brian Roach, South Africa.

"I have twice been a guest at the Moulin - the first time I stayed in the original mill room which has been renovated but one can still see and hear the running stream and view the ancient milling stone . It was a trip back in time but with all the modern amenities."The best part were the long sunny afternoons relaxing on the stone deck overlooking the water , watching the cows in the fields while sipping wine and eating local cheese and sausages". The sightseeing was fantastic with castles, beautiful villages, canoeing on the river and the food in the area “divine” I can highly recommend the Moulin and the Area. Wow! The Moulin de Malecoste is an ancient stone mill house and barn that’s been transformed into a tranquil, private country home. It was like taking a trip back in time.We did some exploring to Brive, Collonges la Rouge and Martel, but some of our best times were spent relaxing at home. There are lots of places to walk and enjoy the countryside as well as taking a canoe ride down the Dordogne river which was magical. Our little apartment was huge, and the gardens were spectacular. The entire place was much more than the photo’s showed. We really enjoyed watching the cows in the fields next door, as they watched us. Needless to say the food in the restaurants was amazing, but with the things we got from the local markets, eating in, was super too. Our stay was much too short. Bart Smith Danbury USA

We really enjoyed our stay at the Moulin de MalecosteMain House. The surrounding countryside was just like we pictured it. The property is a wonderful stone estate surrounded by farm pastures. This was a great home base for all the exploring we did. The farmers market in Martel and other surrounding villages were full of all sorts of things. The medieval towns such as Collonges la Rouge, Turenne, Sarlat, Souillac and Rocamadour, were all within half an hours drive. Brive la Gaillarde is a 30 minute drive away, and we went there a couple of times. Brive has a population of around 50,000 and has all manner of shops and shopping centres, restaurants and services. The historic centre is well worth a trip. All the accommodation at the Moulin is virtually new and better than we expected. We even had a huge fireplace that we used one night. Every detail has been thought of. Heather and Rad, were unbelievably helpful and treated us like long lost friends. We will definitely be back again. Barbara Kershaw Connecticut USA

" We have spent many a happy time at the Moulin. We usually visit at least once a year. A quiet and peaceful location surrounded by interesting and exciting countryside surrounded with beautiful villages, historical sites and great restaurants. We always find somewhere new to explore on our visits whatever the season of the year. The mill is a beautiful French home with excellent facilities and delightfully furnished. Home from home atmosphere. We have stayed in all the different accommodation options and they are all fabulous. The great thing about the Moulin is that the accommodation is so versatile, we have been there alone as well as with friends and family. It makes for great communal holidaying providing each couple or family with their own private space and facilities but also having communal areas when required. You will have a wonderful stay, we always do." John & Wendy Bibby Essex England

This is probably one of the closest experiences to ultimate contentment and happiness I have yet experienced. There are few places left in the world where one can walk out the door and take a stroll along the lane, where you can pluck apples from the trees, nibble on blackberries a few steps further , gather some walnuts as you go along, and finish it off with a few grapes hanging from the vines - and ten times tastier than anything one finds in a store. As for the lodgings, (Rouge barn apartment) home sweet home! A welcoming atmosphere with the finest attention paid to detail. One lacks nothing- comfort is king. We had the pleasure of spending time with the owners, Heather and Rad, a most warm and welcoming couple , whom not only introduced us to the regions finest cuisine , they gave us super tips for our what to do list. We had endless hours exploring the surrounds. The food markets in Brive a must. The river rafting tremendous fun - and as for the surrounding villages , plenty of history and beautiful architecture. This was certainly one of the most relaxing and enjoyable experiences we have ever had ( we've been twice ) - we will be back any chance we have!

My stay at the Mill perfectly brought to life the rural France I had always imagined. The thick stone walls and rustic architecture of this beautiful house transport you to the countryside of centuries past. The stream that once turned the millstone still runs beneath the house, its soothing sound one of many memorable details. Added to this are quaint nearby villages, Castles and a dizzying array of local cheeses and wine to leave you intoxicated in more ways than one. Bernard Hunter New York USA

A truly memorable stay in the heart of France. The accommodation in "ROUge apartment is exceptionally homely and comfortable, while the facilities have been modernised it still has the rustic old world flavour of the original 17th century mill house. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for an authentic French experience. We loved every minute of our stay.

We would highly recommend a stay in "Blanc". A beautifully appointed gite in idyllic surroundings. "Blanc" has been meticulously decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Everything you need for a relaxing stay in the very attractive French countryside. Plenty of places to visit and explore including Martel and Collonges Rouges and fun to be had canoeing on the Dordogne. OR just reading a good book in perfect surroundings! Always does us good to unwind at the Mill.
