I'm not sure we'll ever get to see much of the world when all we want to do is spend our holidays in this beautifull Mill. We were more than happy with the 5-star accomodation, lots of space, loads of light - a perfect home away from home. The photos don't nearly do it justice. Love the area, there is so much to do and even if you don't want to do a single thing - it really is paradise. A place to switch off and enjoy good food, excellent weather and pure bliss in France! We've already booked our week for 2011!
Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Our stay at Moulin Malecoste was superb. From the fit and finish of the gite, to the superb furnishings, as well as the location - all were perfect. The gite was exactly as described, the photos did not do justice to the gite or the area! The owner and manager were more than obliging in every way, even saving us from a potential disaster due to delayed trains. We loved the terrace, listening to the water flow from the mill pond , while we sat outside on the long , clear , warm evenings enjoying our meals. The close proximity to daily markets, interesting sites to visit, wonderful roads for cycling, and swimming in the Dordogne River all added up to the perfect holiday. The location was perfect for 2 professionals leading busy lives to reconnect , relax, and rejuvenate. Our biggest worry? If we tell too many people just how superb it really was, that we may do ourselves a disservice, and not be able to book for our return trip! This is the 'picture book' rural France we have searched for in the past.
Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

My first trip to the Moulin was in December 2000, and I can't stop going back. My most recent trip was in September 2010 where my Mum spent her birthday. So we had booked out all the accomodation. It was so much fun, I think we'd have a hard time replicating it. The area is gorgeous, quiet and real relaxation, but equally if you feel engergetic you can take out a canoe down the Dordogne or ride a bike through the little lanes. I am probably one of the most fussy travellers and have such high expecations of the interiors and overall holiday experience I am often let down - but this property meets all of them, if not exceeding them. I am planning another trip this year - each time it's different, but the standards are exceptional and I know without doubt, it's going to be fabulous. I live in London and I couldn't think of a better way to recharge my batteries....
