Wellness apartment near HévÃz /Balaton
The Platán Apartment (60sq m) is very comfortably furnished and fully equipped to a high standard. This is a two wooden floor bedroom apartment with one double bed and two single beds, one sofa bed, baby cot on request, open plan tiled floor sitting/dining room/kitchen, toilet and shower room, fully equipped including bedding and towels. Has geothermal underfloor heating (zero CO2 emission), digital FullHD LCD Sat TV, DVD, media player with internet access, AM/FM radio, free wifi, microwave, fridge/freezer, built in oven, ceramic hob, tea/coffe/mocca machine, toaster and everything else what you need in the kitchen. It is ideal for couples, or families with children. It is all on ground level, has an enclosed terrace (35sq m) and is highly suitable both for young families and resting elderly. The terrace is partially shaded by a huge plane tree (platán) to provide protection from the hot sun and is equipped with barbecue and is suitable for both al fresco dining and sunbathing. The terrace faces West and the sun shines all afternoon.
The cosy apartment is situated in Zalacsány in the park of the Batthyány Castle, a very quiet separated idyllic part of the location on the lower south-est slopes of Zala hills.
Zalacsány is a village in the mid-western part of Hungary just 20 km from the Lake Balaton. Has a very pleasant sub-Mediterranean climate. The summer season in Hungary is May - September but the apartment is fully equipped for all year round use, considering the plenty thermal springs and spa facilities around.
The apartment is situated in the tranquil Batthyány Villa Park which shares a magnificent 65000 sq m (16 acres) park with the 200 years old Batthyányi Castle. The Villa Park is a complex of 15 eco friendly villas and a Wellness Center, where you can find all appropriate spa services and an indoor pool with natural thermal water. The Wellness Center with its own restaurant (with HB, FB, menu or á la carte) is quite near the apartment(20 m). There is also an outdoor thermal pool near the Castle just 100m walking distance through the park from the apartment. The historical Castle once belonged to earl Batthyány today is a wellness hotel, with a luxury restaurant, spa, and sport facilities. All of these can be used (against fee) by the apartment guests as well. The whole area, inclusive the spacious free private parking place is surrounded by fence with two remote controlled gates.
There is also a nice fishing lake at 800m walking distance from the apartment.
Thermal bath with spa you can find nearby in Kehida (1,5 km), HévÃz (8km), Zalaszentgrót (15km), Zalakaros (27km).
HévÃz -just 8 km on highway- is an old and very famous spa town located near Lake HévÃz, the world's second-largest thermal lake. It provides facilities for visitors seeking to use the medicinal waters of the lake, including hotels, parks, sports, entertainment and culture.
In HévÃz, medicinal spa tourism goes back over 200 years. The town is famous for its manicured parks, safety, hospitality and year-round cultural activities. One of the biggest attractions is the 38 m deep Lake HévÃz. With its 44000 sq m (11 acres)surface is claimed to be the world's second largest thermal lake and also the largest biologically active natural medicinal lake, thanks to its rich mineral and unique micro-algae content which helps in the treatment and curing of rheumatic and locomotive problems.
The temperature of the lake surface reaches 37-38 °C and it does not go below 24-26 °C even in winter, which makes it suitable for bathing all the year round. Its temperature is the result of the cold and warm springs water gushing from the depth of the earth, which get mixed in the spring cave at a rate of 410 liters of water per second. Due to this abundance, the whole amount of water in the lake gets replenished every three days.
Lake Balaton
Lake Balaton is the biggest lake in Central Europe and one of the major tourist destinations in the country, just 20 minutes from Zalacsány. The lake has shallow waters and you can walk for tens of meters before you can't stand anymore. The advantage is that the water is relatively warm, even already in Spring. The surroundings are hilly with magnificent vineyards and there are some great places and wine cellars to explore. The western shores are less populated and less crowded. You also can go on sailboat or a Chesna flight above the lake, which is great fun as well.
Zalacsány can be reached by car, just 28km from M1 motorway, by bus from Budapest, and by airplane from HévÃz-Balaton International Airport (15km) with direct flights to Germany, Russia and Baltic states. (free transfer can be arranged with the owner)
