Message  A beautiful house set at the edge of a quaint little village, surrounded by wonderful views.
It was the ideal location for us to relax and unwind for a week.
The house has a mixture of Bohemian chic and old world charm. Our bedroom was comfortable and we welcomed the sunlight that streamed in through the open curtains in the mornings.
The kitchen was great, with more than enough room for the big group we were with. Our favourite part of the stay was everybody getting together to cook and eat in the amazing kitchen.

The location offers a great base for visiting the many chateaux, swimming lakes, vineyards, beautiful little towns and countryside around Lormes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Message  I was here with the aforementioned group of seven from July 7-12. We had an amazing time! I absolutely loved the well-equipped kitchen - particularly the oh-so-sharp knives, the gas stove, and the stone floor. I was also highly enamored of the outdoor clothesline in the back garden. My husband and I slept in the "moon room," which is open to the second bedroom upstairs and the downstairs hall, but is light and airy with a large window in the sloping roof just above the bed - it was a delight to wake up there every morning.

There is a short hike up a hill called La Justice, just up the road from the house, and the view from the top is unbelievable. We went up there almost every evening to catch the sunset. Additionally, the surrounding area is completely charming. We swam and picnicked at two different lakes, went wine tasting, and checked out the old Romanesque Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene in the lovely town of Vezelay. I was sad I missed the local market on Thursday morning, but we bought chickens from a nearby farm during our stay, which was quite thrilling to my locavore self. All in all, I can't imagine a better holiday and hope to return sometime.

Message  What a perfect place! The house is on the outskirts of a quiet town set in the middle of the French countryside. Its location is just out of the way enough to avoid any noise from passing cars, but the centre of town and its array of lovely bakers and good food shops is within a few minutes' walk from the front door. The weekly market was great fun - it had more cheeses than I've ever seen!

The bedrooms are large and very comfortable, the living room has a huge open fire, and the kitchen is spacious and well-stocked. The garden is filled with butterflies and bees and always hums with life. We walked up to the top of the hill immediately behind the house almost every night - the 360 degree views were absolutely beautiful and there is so much countryside to explore in the area.

We were a group of seven and there was space enough for everyone to eat, sleep, and be merry. I hope we get to return next year - we were all very sorry to have to leave such a gorgeous retreat...

Message  Very beautiful, quiet spot with magnificent views just five minutes walk up the hill. It's hard not to feel completely relaxed in this setting!

The house is very spacious and comfortable, plenty of room for a large group to spread out.

The area is sleepy but spectacular. Quiet roads ideal for cycling (but hilly!) and several inviting lakes with secluded beaches a short drive away.

A perfect getaway!

Message  Cozy, rustic, beautiful old stone farmhouse in a gorgeous setting, with gorgeous views of surrounding hills. This place is really special!

I spent a week there in July with 6 friends (7 people total, all adults) - a big group but we fit perfectly into this sprawling, airy house - each couple had their own bedroom plus a single in the loft/bunk area. The kitchen, living room and outdoor areas were each large enough to fit us all at once quite comfortably.

The house is full of rustic old farmhouse character. It gets tons of sunshine, especially in the mornings. The garden is very peaceful, with the sound of crickets and honeybees surrounding you - hardly a car in sight as the road it's on is very quiet. The kitchen was very well-equipped - we were cooking gourmet meals for 7 people every night and it worked great, plus we could all sit around the large kitchen table with no problems. I also enjoyed the romantic old claw-foot bathtub, situated in a small room that was once a bread oven. We also had fires in the old stone fireplace - fantastic!

The house worked great for a big group, but would work just as well for a cozy romantic getaway. The master bedroom was luxurious, well-appointed and spacious. Everything had that touch of luxury, in addition to loads of rustic charm.

We hope to return next year! What a keeper.
