Message  A perfect holiday location for all the family from the baby to the pensioner!
On arrival we immediately felt at home with everything we needed at our finger tips. A safe and welcoming environment within a clean, comfortable, magnificent family home which still retains some of the features of a traditional Portuguese fisherman's cottage. Amazing views, beautiful terraces and a luxurious master bedroom. Plenty of sunshine and shade for everyone with as much room outside the villa as inside. A quiet, shady terrace for breakfast, plenty of play room for the children and wonderful barbecue areas in the evening to accommodate numerous friends and family. Three minutes from small friendly shops, top class restaurants and a superb safe, sandy beach. Jacky and Mike are superb hosts who could not be more helpful and friendly. Every day at the villa held its own magic for the whole family and the month went by too quickly. Our only regret is that we don't actually own Pescador. It welcomed us into its heart and we are counting the days until we can return.

This is a fabulous property set in a lovely fishing village and only a couple of hundred yards from the beech. My wife and I took our 2 sons and their friends. The villa is perfectly split with a large en suite master bedroom on the first floor with its own sun terrace giving us privacy from the boys.
The village is perfect and safe. We let the boys go out on their own and with all the village facilities within 5 minutes walk from the villa they really enjoyed themselves.. We would recommend this villa to any of our friends

My first visit to Pescador was for my honeymoon and it was so special.
The Villa is beautiful, full of character and although in the village itself, it is lovely and private. Perfect!
Everything is just a stones throw away (and I cant throw very far)
We spent many an evening BBQing on the terrace
listening to the sea lapping away in the back
ground, and our mornings deciding whether to have breakfast on the top terrace with the sea view or down stairs.
I have been back to Pescador many times since my honeymoon (with said husband)and we have never been disappointed.
The kids now love it too!!! They get their own space and it feels so safe for them.
Highly recommended and hoping to spend my golden wedding anniversary there!
Thank you to both Jackie and Mike - We love your Home!

We absolutely loved Casa do Pescador. It was fully equipped with everything, especially for avid cooks, plenty of pans, grills, dishes, spices. The wonderful town, proximity to the beach, wine shop, excellent restaturants in the area as well, all were an added bonus. Staying in Jackie and Mikes home was just that, a home away from home. We'll be sure to return again with our family and friends.

Jackie,
Many happy returns! sorry for the delay in replying, our internet was off for a few days. Just to say we had a brilliant time in Casa do Pescador, the new years eve was great as you said, we were down in the village square and it was a lovely way to bring in the new year. The people were very welcoming and we both were saying we actually couldnt have got a nicer place to stay! Your house is gorgeous, and was far better than we could have hoped for, so thanks a million for letting us stay, we very much hope to come back one day! It was our first visit to Portugal and we thoroughly enjoyed every day and got to see and do loads, only wish we could have stayed a bit longer... Anyway thanks a million Jackie, so glad you offered us your place now, You are very lucky getting to live there.

Have a great new year,

Paul and Isabel

This is definately 5 star accomodation, with so many extras provided it really does feel like home from home. This was our third visit to Burgau and each time is better than the last.Pescador is just the most wonderful place to stay, with extras including beach towels and games for everyone,a good selection of books, and hairdryers in all bedrooms, all these help when packing the cases. All rooms are too a very high standard and the owners take great pride in making sure their guests want for nothing. It is certainly worth a visit and we will be definately going again soon

Hey Jackie

What a wonderful place you have there in Burgau. The pictures don’t do it justice. What an amazing time we had. Our kids absolutely enjoyed themselves. Having the two courtyards and the locked gate made things so safe and reassuring for us. We would definitely return in a heart beat. I was wondering if in the future, can we book directly with you or do you want us to go through that holiday website. It may take us a few years to get back but we will make every effort to return ASAP. I also wanted to thank you for all your help and assistance in making our trip wonderful. Our drive down from Lisbon was easy, the roads are marked well and there were plenty of places to stop if we needed. The car company we rented from was also great.
Anyways I wanted to thank you personally and say that we really had a great time. Talk to you soon

Dear Mike,

Just wanted to say a big thank you for renting your villa to us last week. We returned from Burgau late last night after a wonderful holiday feeling suitably relaxed and refreshed. The car hire people you recommended were fantastic and we really enjoyed exploring the local area. Weather was fantastic too, not so hot that we had to panic about Joseph getting burnt yet easily comfortable being in swimwear - the sea was still a bit cold though.
kind regards

Hi Jackie
We all had a great 3 weeks in Portugal and a great week at your villa in Burgau.Once we got used to the smuggler alleys and narrow streets, we got around real well. The weather wasn't all sunshine, but we got a few days in on the beach. We ate at most of the local restruants and my best was the sea bass at the high end restruant. We spent a day in Sagres and came back via Carrapateria beach and the great restruant you suggested, through Alezur but the church was closed, up to Monthique and back through Silves. We spent a day in Lagos and Luz, and another in the Spainish town just across the border where we had lunch in the central square. We put over 3000KM on our van driving up via Evora and overnight in Castelo de Vide. We spent a week at a villa high on a mountain about 10 miles down the Douro River from Regua and took day drives to major sites in the north including Barcelos, Braga, Bon Jesus, Regua ,Pinhao; a train ride to Porto for a day, and a long day up to Braganca.
We saw everything on my list and all went perfectly.
Your villa started our trip in grand style and it kept going well all the way.
Thanks for letting us live in your villa for a week

Dear jackie

Just to say thanks for all your help re Pescador...Everything went smoothly with our journey and upon our arrival the weather was fantastic!!!!! Nic and hannah were really helpful and we took your advice and went and drowned a couple of jugs of white sangria along with a salad before returning to Pescador and then having a kip in the sunshine...Yor villa is fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there...We ate out every night in a different restaurant and all were really good....The best thing was the wine shop straight across the road from us.....got to know him well as we were there most days!!!!.
The only day we used the car was Tuesday due to the weather being thundery and cloudy but other than that dont think we would have used it as all was on hand that we needed in Burgau....Will definitely be going back..
Again many thanks.

Best regards

Hi Jackie & Mike,
just thought you might like to add us to your guest book,we had a wonderful time in Burgau again this year.Weather was glorious, everyone welcomed us again especially Elizabeth at Ruis.
The people are wonderful, the house is out of this world and the food as always is the best wherever you go.
Laid back is the best way to describe the village,if you want to relax and take things easy then here is the place to go.
Our days consisted of playing with our girls on the beach or at the pool at Jimmy's bar, then visiting one of the local hostelries for a meal and drinks, what a way to end the day!!! Ruis is the best place for your end of day drinks!!!
Thanks again for the hospitality

Hi Jackie,

Your villa is brilliant. It was perfect for our family. Everyone had space to generally doss in or use the terraces. With 4 teenagers and 1 who thinks he's a teenager the more space the better, and that's what you've got at your villa, once again brilliant.

The weather first 2 days was iffy but great thereafter, and yes we are all feeling depressed at being back home even though the weather is o.k.

Once again, jackie, thanks for everything. We might be speaking again if we can get all of us together for another holiday in the future.
Thanks
Steve and Julie

Hello Jackie and Mike.

Just a few lines to say how we enjoyed our stay in your superb Villa in Burgau
(Feb 2007)
Your Villa is so well positioned, and big compared to the other properties,
sea views are brilliant the top patio what a little heaven. It was so hot
on Thursday we had to go onto the beach and into the sea stayed there till
4.00 only people on, could not believe it.

You have everything there, a bonus not to take beach towels etc what a good
idea. Great TV pictures all 5 channels. Master bedroom what a beauty, shower
great plenty of hot water.

Maria is lovely, and Alfonse the gardener well what a chick, loves his football
Benfica, Porto, Sporting Lisbon, NEVER HEARD OF BOLTON .

The only way to compare Burgau is Robin Hoods Bay in Heaven.
Thanks again for such an unforgettable time in your Villa.

All the very best.

Dear Jackie,

I'm really sorry not to get back to you sooner to thank you for a lovely
stay. We travelled up through Portugal and Spain and got back on Christmas
eve into the chaos of Christmas.
The house was lovely and we had a very relaxing week in Burgau.

The house was well equipped. The village was friendly, the beach was lovely and it was nice to be able to sit out on the terrace.

I'm sorry you didn't manage to get out there - I hope you had a lovely
Christmas anyway.

All the best for the New Year and thank you very much for having us at
Pescador.

Best wishes,
Fiona

Hi Jackie,
Got back yesterday and wanted to let you know we had the most lovely time.
It was perfect as you had said. Your house is really delightful and so
spacious! Loved the outside areas and it felt so safe for the kids to play
in. The beach was great and the sea seemed to warm up the second half of our stay
Thanks for the use of everything in the house, not having to take towels
etc really was less to carry. Needed the car and visited a few places
although we mostly stayed in the village eating ice cream or playing in the
sand.
We are really keen to go again and are thinking of the same time next year.
Thanks again - for everything!

Dear Jackie & Mike
Just a very quick note to say thanks for the use of the house in Burgau last week.
We had a fabulous holiday in a fabulous house!
It really is a lovely spot and the house was perfect so everyone enjoyed themselves enormously.
Didn't venture that far a field as we enjoyed the location but we did get down the coast a bit to other beaches and went to Capo de St Vincente. The locals were telling us that the weather was unusually hot and there literally wasn't a cloud in the sky all week.
Ate fresh fish every day, perfect for me!

Thanks for a great time and I've no doubt we will visit again sometime soon.

Regards

Dave

Hi Jackie,

We have had the most wonderful time in Burgau it was just perfect!

The house is terrific! In fact we are planning our next trip as there is so much to do that we didn’t get done in the week we were there.
The weather was glorious and everyone very friendly (apart from that awful hill!!!)
I wont be climbing that again 7 months pregnant!!!

Anyway, thanks again

Hi Mike & Jackie,

Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful holiday we have had in Burgau and in particular in Pescador.
The weather was glorious and the villa and the village are so safe for children that it made our stay the best ever!!
We found all the information that you provide great, your descriptions of the places round about and the restaurants in the village helped a lot.

We all loved the beach and even Martin went in the sea which is unheard of.
We are looking forward to going again next year and saving up to do the boat trips from Lagos that we didn't manage this time.
Watching the web cam all the time now, and can't wait for May 2007.

Thanks once again for everything.

P.S. The beach towels and all the things you provide make a huge difference so thank you for those as well.

Hi Jackie
Just come to the computer to send you an e-mail, I have been in London since I came back, so sorry for the delay.

We had a fantastic time, everything was great and your super villa was perfect making the trip a real success. Thank you so much for letting us stay and for having everything set up for us. Amazingly we knew the villa, American friends used to rent it and we had barbeques there some 40-35 years ago. We love it and you have everything just right. The weather was great and we went swimming, the sea was much warmer than we remember. I think it was probably more to do with the currents rather than global warming. The village has changed a lot there wasn't much there when we used to go, just two cafes the Biera Ma and one on the corner, but the layout very recognizable.
We visited lot's of places along the coast and went up the mountains passed Monchique for Piri Piri chicken of course. Burgau is still the best and looking very good, much smarter but still a lot of character and you have the best villa. It would be lovely if I could go again sometime and take my wife and four children as well.
Thank you again from all of us.
Kindest regards
